Who loves walking and biking in Wheat Ridge?? Everybody!
HUGE thank you to everyone who attended last night's ATAT State of the City. The room was packed with amazing people who share a passion for walking and riding. Mayor Joyce Jay gave a great talk about why a healthy, active community is so important and Public Works Director Scott Brink provided helpful updates on big projects like the Kipling St Multi-Use Trail and the Ward Road Station/Gold Line.
It was super fun to share the many successes in Wheat Ridge from 2014, thanks to leadership from elected officials, staff and passionate community members. Pierce St bike lanes, the Ridge at 38 Crit Race, continued funding of Bike/Ped infrastructure and more...
We also cast a vision for 2015 which includes continued advocacy, outreach and advisory work but more importantly, 5 Action Teams for community members to lead and support so Wheat Ridge can be even more bike/walk/ride-friendly. Look for more information on those and think about how you can help with events, improving safety for all users, social media and pursuing Bicycle-Friendly Community status.
We will email everyone meeting minutes with oodles of linked documents and summaries so you can be in the loop and sign up for an Action Team. If you're not on our email list, let us know firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for a great 2014 and get ready for an even better-er 2015!
